The Dr. Henry shoe will pre-sell later this month in a limited-edition colourway to support Food Banks BC.

For many people in B.C., the regular updates from Dr. Bonnie Henry, our chief provincial health officer, are a highlight in these stressful days. Along with her calm and genuine demeanour and straightforward and thoughtful advice, some people have noticed her fabulous shoes — Dr. Henry is a known and avid Fluevoger (a fan of John Fluevog shoes.)

It turns out that feeling is mutual: John Fluevog himself is an avid fan of Dr. Henry, and he announced today a limited edition shoe inspired by the good doctor.

“At times like these, we’re so fortunate to have someone who is calm and comforting but direct, and positive but realistic, informing and educating us day to day,” says Fluevog. “We always like to find ways to help, and to highlight those who are doing good in our world. To hear about and see that our admiration for Dr. Henry was mutual was just a beautiful cherry on top of an already great idea sundae.”

Designed with her blessing, The Dr. Henry shoes will also aid in the fight against COVID-19 with 100 per cent of pre-sale proceeds going to support Food Banks BC. Part of The Operetta Family, the shoe features patent leather accents, interlacing on the uppers and some of Dr. Henry’s own wise words stamped onto the footsock, reminding us all to “be kind, be calm and be safe.”
