Iggy Pop, Diplo and Paris Hilton are among the eclectic lineup that will expand over two weekends and two major venues.
It’s already one of the most excitingly eclectic music and arts festivals of late summer — and now Rifflandia is back with even more acts and way more fun over two entire weekends in September.
“We are extremely excited to present our most high-profile and eclectic collection of artists to date,” says Nick Blasko, president and CEO of the Rifflandia Festival. “Two weekends will allow both of our flagship event sites to grow into the best versions of themselves, offering two distinct festival experiences under the Rifflandia Festival umbrella.”
Tickets go on sale today for the Riff, which will be held September 7 to 9 on Electric Avenue in the Arts & Innovation District and September 15 to 17 at Royal Athletic Park. Electric Avenue (19+) will expand its footprint and hours, as well as add a dedicated VIP area; it will feature multiple stages. Meanwhile, The Park (licensed, all ages) will again feature two main stages where music lovers of all ages can take in the performances. There’s even a special Kidlandia for the littlest fans.
And what a lineup it will be. Headliners include Iggy Pop, Diplo, Chris Lake, Run The Jewels, Herbie Hancock, Paris Hilton, Salt-N-Pepa, Stephen Marley, Marc Rebillet, Mavis Staples, Chet Faker, KALEO, Paul Okenfold, Chromeo and many, many others.
It’s a triumphant comeback for the much-loved fest, which was established in 2008 and returned last year after a four-year hiatus. Some 60,000 music lovers gather to enjoy performances by top international and national acts alongside new and emerging artists, as well as products from local food & beverage entrepreneurs and creative artisans. Last year’s festival drew some of the biggest audiences Rifflandia has ever seen. And this year is expected to be even bigger and better.
As Blasko says, “September forever and ever!”
VIP passes, Super Passes, three-day Park passes and three-night Electric Avenue passes go on sale on rifflandia.com today at 10 a.m. PT.
